this posting is in response to ongoing discussion about - how to eliminate non- serious contenders on IR.com
@
all,
It
is
amusing as well as
revealing to read kolramsri’s
admission that after 52 years
of racing experience he
is unable to predict with confidence even 2
runners in a day
who can place
in a race!
This also confirms the fact that most
of the punters go
to races, without any preparation, understanding of this
intricate game which needs ‘more’ than
normal efforts to decipher the
various clues available to
win.
The soft- pedalling of
words does not hide
the inadequacy of efforts to ‘win’
but establishes
the casualness of the attempts…
All
the losers come
out with different excuses, except the admission that they made
inadequate efforts to ‘bell the
cat’…
Glasgow
Prince,
Your
question looks
strange.
Anybody offering
his expertise, services or
opinions should not ask for
compensation; seems to be
your conviction or opinion.
But why? Why should
a person giving
his ‘knowledge’ to other
not ask for a
commensurate compensation/reward/
money?
You
pay
fee or money
to attend school, college or a movie
etc., but want the ‘know-how’ to
make money from races
for free! How legitimate is
this demand, I don’t know…
We
go
to races to make/earn/win money – not for
enjoyment or passing time. Those who
say that their
intention is not
to make money, are living under self –delusion.
When
everybody willingly pays for the
food, entertainment , education and any
other facility he wants or demands, why
he wants everything ‘free’
in horse racing field -
a game of ‘skill’?
Is it advisable or
correct to ask/convess/ demand the fruits
of a ‘skill’ achieved by
a practitioner over a
period of time – free, without any
compensation…
