Race  no 3  - Iron Age , the  favorite  can  not win.

Weight is a great levller! Weight handicapping is a very strong tool for finding a winner, especially in a long( > 1600m) distance races and competitive races.Invincible champions have lost many times to shock the handicappers who do not take this point in account e.g. Elusive Pimpernel(60Kgs.) losing to a 48 kgs. runner. Many more examples are available... In a class I mock race Aster Rose(57kg) easily beat Hall of Famer(52K) by more than 1/2 length. In an actual race Aster Rose (51kg) got 6kg Benefit while HOF weight was raised to 57 1/2kgs. It gave Aster Rose a clear advantage of more than 10kgs. HOF second favorite, odds were 7/1 for win and 70/80 paisa for place while Aster Rose opened at 12/1 and 3/2 for place which later came down to 10/1 and even (place) on 11/6/17 Serjeant At Arms was half money favorite a no no go for an ordinary punter. Question was to find place getter- Hall of Famer, Fire Glow were obvious choicefor place but paying less than even. Aster Rose was neglected -available at 12/1 for win. Now look at a mock race. Aster Rose carrying 57 kgs.(John) beats Ajinkya (around 50-52kgs) but clever tipsters and bookie make HOF as second favorite and 'downgradw' Aster Rose to 12/1! Who came second very easily - Aster Rose! Paying 3 to 4 times more place money( with bookies) as compared to the winner! It is surprising that 57 kgs. COMING DOWN to 51kgs. and GOING UP in betting while 50/52 kgs. Home Of Famer going up to 57.5kgs is INSTALLED AS SECOND FAVORITE!!! HATS OFF TO TIPSTERS AND THEIR FOLLOWERS!!! BOOKMAERS ARE NO FRIENDS OF PUNTERS - why should we blame them???????????????????????????? An alert punter got a very good chance to make good money by winning place bet on Aster Rose instead of betting on SA Arms at 4/10. It reminded me of Invitation day place win on Shivalik Shower in SA Arms race which gave me 4 times on a tenner which I split on Temerity and Tororoso in next race...
