Some stray thoughts,opinions on - punters ,gamblers(prostitutes) and bloggers and readers…
I was trying to think of a better header but could not find one and settled for this one!
Let me start with the first word - punter. A punter is a person(M/F) who goes to racecourse to bet on race runners(horses, roans, fillies, colts, geldings, mares or donkeys) and tries to make money thinking that it is the easiest way to earn a fortune. Many people , called self-styled experts – try to reinforce his/her perception by putting/posting/touting their opinions/comments/observations etc. to influence his final judgment. At the end of the day, sometimes , you see his beaming face –with the success written allover his face , but most of the days you can see his haggard face and wonder why he comes again and again to lose. He is the man who enables these race-clubs survive .
A part of this community called punters, perhaps 5 to 10% - is called gamblers. The oldest profession in the world was/is called - prostitution, I’m told. These people belong to this category. Look at their faces carefully- they’ll fake the orgasm when they are losing and of course they will try every trick of the trade to hoodwink the gullible punters. They belong to all groups of race goers- owners, trainers, jockeys, tipsters, experts, track reporters and numerous other categories. Even a sweeperess at Mahalaxmi offers tips! The ‘oldest professional’ provide services for a consideration while a gambler sometimes pays, for the services rendered – then how can I equate them , someone will argue. My answer is that those who pay are not gamblers but punters. It is the freeloaders whom I’m referring to. All freeloaders are not clever, only few are – those who keep on changing their identity . Some of them are even bloggers !
A blogger ,in my opinion, is a person who wants to share ,offer ,express and exchange opinion, information ideas etc. without any obligation on the part of the reader and the blogger . Some of them, initially meekly, ask others to put their blog identity on existing sites/blogs and after sometime when they ‘grow’, they try to become ‘exclusive’. Why can’t they become ‘exclusive’ from the beginning? Want to piggy ride on others?
Finally , I come to the readers of the blogs! Expressing a contrary opinion is a right of every reader – though very few bloggers take it kindly. But using civil language instead of rough or abusive words can enliven a discussion and improve interaction , which is the basic purpose of blogging, I feel . But what will you call these kind of readers who ask your opinion by ‘intentionally’ misspelling a word and asking : what do you think about ‘Spark of Madarch@@’…is he a classic material? His name still exists on some of the blogs I visit regularly. Of course I have never published this ‘man’ s question and few bloggers did remove it after few days. I suspect that he is an oldtimer bloggerand net surfer who tries to test the patience of others! His remarks perhaps, are still there on some blogs…
What do we do with these kind of people – I am asking you…

Freeloaders / Readers always EXPECT Winners. Fair enough but if the readers Visit all the existing blogs and makes a wrong decision who is to be blamed as the existing Blogs give Diverse opinions?? At the end of the day there can be only 1 Winner.
So the best policy would be Each one onto Himself.
The only trait of the Punters which is Very much visible is jealousy. It is difficult for the Losers to Digest the fact that SOMEONE had actually made some money at the races. The frustration of losing is so high that they visit all blogs and post inane comments like the One you have referred to in the post. I did see through the intent and discarded the Query , while many opted to leave it as it is. When the same message is posted across all Blogs , Frustration is there for all to SEE.I do have a fair idea of the person behind this prank.
Tipping for a price / exclusive tipping , are they any better than the dalal's who advertise in the Race Books , ASSURING quick and Fast Money .The Subscription fees fund their Punting .If they had the Winners they would NOT be selling the Tips , they would be at the Bookies office collecting the Payout Week after Week.
To put it plainly they are the loser's and all they need is a fall GUY to Subsidise their Losses.

I believe you should not pay attention to these, if u start paying attention then do more these sort of things as we are giving some weight to them. Silence is the best weapon in the world.

Very good repartee.
A reader/client will ALWAYS EXPECT a winner from a tipster, who may be offering it free or on payment. This is human nature. You are very correct when you said that with diverse views of bloggers, tipsters a reader gets confused but that is what bookmakers love .I never ridicule any tipster but never follow anybody, except myself. To catch correctly the only winner of a race IS the AIM of all punters.
In fact, Indian punter should not be jealous of each other ,because unlike USA ,France and some other countries where bookmakers are almost nonexistent and punters bet AGAINST EACH OTHER, in India they have bookmakers who are few and ‘do not’ affect the ‘ordinary’ punter. Therefore ,except a small punter who fills the coffers of the raceclubs big punters need not bother.
Tipping for a price should not be derided . Allover the world punters pay for the tips and in USA, DRF (Daily Racing Form) charges 6 to 10 dollars for a 5 to 6 pages write ups on Kentucky Derby probables! Here we offer similar information ,free of charge, on various websites!Even in India some ‘popular’ tipsters have a clientele . By the way , what we all do by offering free tips ? Perhaps, to prove that I’m better than you because my selections have won more races. Let us be realistic and accept the fact.

You are absolutely right to advise that we must ignore these type of people but most of the time silence emboldens these rogues and they may create more harm than good to the racing punter.we must correct that situation.

I read the first para without any effort/difficulty because I'm fond of reading and am forced to scan within one hour, 200 pages of newspapers/magzines everyday in morning.
you did make a point and I acept it in toto, because most of humans try to comprehend the meaning of a word byscanning few letters of a word- that is why in good old days we had'proof-readers'!
my intention to bring out the action of this reader was to caution the bloggers that if we can not castrate these kind of people we can at least castigate them.
to substantiate my opinion, I must cite an example.A film I saw eon ago called'Judgement at Nuremberg' is about the trial of German Judges who followed the 'diktat' of rulers and sent many people to gallows and castration.the film won many Oscars and the defence lawyer -Maxmillion Schell won an Oscar too!
Germans,after losing world war II, paid the price - for almost two generations, for ignoring the shenanigans of a miniscule number of persons.
should we also follow that ?

I SEEN THE NAME OF THE HORSE AND GIVEN SOME SATIRISTIC ANGEL BY INTENTIONALLY MISPELLING THE NAME THAT IT.
Coming to Nuremberg trails ..there was a will in the prosecutors and countries to convict the people who did those crimes, even though all of them like each other very much I mean USA and Germany..The fights(WWI and WWII) among them were only to establish a leader among them who will dictate the world in that process USA emerged as leader and europe became its tail.Now there wont be any fight among them ..USA will loot the world and their competitors from entire europe including germany follows USA.
So comparing those nuremberg trails and my intential misspelt speaks volumes about our mind set.Our PM says after one of the deadliest terror attack "what i can do", our Home minister said iam reasonably lucky that there is no terror attack in these one year two days after my taking over as Home minister.So forget the convictions in our country for any sort of crime whether the looting of public money/wealth.. or Murders rapists ets.. all the people who are in the process to convict the guilty and fair administration nothing but worst than dogs so we are,Since all those posts filled up by the people from the same society where we living.Better contribute some thing by siding ways with the victims rather than blah blah Bcoz you might be fulfilled your reponsibilites towards your dependents and has some free time and courage.. where as we in 30s and 40s mostly still struggiling to fulfill the personal responsibilities leaving aside the society responsibilities to dogs and pigs.

Initially , I thought to delete your mail, because it does NOT concern racing.Your Id is recorded in my computer but that is meaningless! I am sure you know that I know , who you are. But that is not the bone of contention!
I’m a bit sad disillusioned by the attitude of gamblers(not punters) and my age, Bhartiyata (Indian-ness) and many other comments have no relationship with reality.
I’ll be civil , very civil with you and advise you to visit my new blog – chanakya on today , where I’ll opine about current ,past or future environment. That blog will deal with everything ,except racing. I’ll reply to all your points there , and not on a racing blog!
Do not worry, think, before you post – you will be a happy man .
