taxes,raid ,bookmaker and punter

A ‘news’ or an article about a raid by RWITC security on ‘unofficial’ or ‘illegal’ bookmakers, on a blog forced me to write this response which the blogger did not publish. Of course that was his blog and his right to refuse/accept a response is unquestionable.
Why people don’t pay tax? How black money was generated in India?
A short recall from the budget speech on 29 Februay 1956 by Mr CD Deshmukh our finance minister-on that day may throw some light. He said : I propose that rate of tax on the highest slab of income ,that is,above Rs 1,50,000(per annum), will be 91.9% against the present figure of 88.6%...
What an honest ,hardworking Indian should do in this kind of ‘socialistic’ progressive society and country? I don’t know?
Few decades ago in 80's punters use to bet with zero tax with bookmakers at RWITC. In early 90's they started paying 10% tax(?). Many of my friends who were owners were doing it openly with the legal bookmakers and though all of them are now punters ,it is a brazen fact that ALL punters who bet more than Rs.2000 or 3000 with legal bookmakers do it even now openly under the very nose of these 'super intelligent' competent and 'sincere' security staff of RWITC!
If anybody wants a proof and RWITC's security staff is serious and Mr. Vivek Jain is really interested then they must go to the bookies ring at Mumbai,ON ANY RACING DAY and move around - they (all three) can find at least 10, if not more illegal bookies doing business. Loiter around the racecourse they may be lucky to find many more. Going on at Borivali is/was an open secret for more than last 2 years.Secrecy of operation has no meaning.
Finally, I must say ,a man is a slave of habits. Many years ago when BTC could convince Karnataka government to reduce taxes and increased their turnover from 100+ crore to 1000+ crore in about 10 or 12 years , why our high profile gentlemen who get selected/elected year after year(literally ad infinitum) could not convince Maharashtra govt. to do the same to eradicate the scourage of illegal betting defies logic and baffles a sensible man(nay person).Maybe, they don't have to pay any tax at all, on their betting !The comments and opinions are plain, bit sarcastic but true. May not go well with few- but I never write for them. Perhaps, I do it for a common, faceless, voiceless person called a punter...

Dear Chanakya,

I am shocked that you publicly make an accusation without even bothering to first check out if it is true.

I have NOT received ANY response for the said article that has NOT been published.

In fact, so far, since I revived my blog less than three months ago, I have withheld just TWO responses because they contained abusive language (only swearwords, nothing else). Barring the two, EACH AND EVERY RESPONSE to my blog has been published. I dare anyone to come out and say that he/she has written a response to my blog and it has not been published.

My mail address has always been public (even my phone number has appeared on my blog). The least you could have done before making such public accusation against me is mail or call me and inquire if I have received your response.

If you have any hint/proof that you have sent me the alleged message, kindly share the details with me, or else, I think you owe me an apology, and let it please be as public as the accusation you chose to make without verifying the facts.

Dear Chanakya,

I am surprised you have neither carried my response nor have you given any explanation.

Please also try to remember if, when you said the alleged response to my blog, was your net connection working perfectly? Because the only way that I understand from experts is if you clicked "publish your message" button but did not check if the page refreshed or not. If the page had refreshed, showing you the message that the comment will be published later after approval, then IT IS IMPOSSIBLE that the message can get lost.

Only if you did not wait until the page refreshed (and if the net faltered) there is a chance that you would think you sent the message and I would still not get it.

Anyway, I am no expert on net matters and this is just what I have been told by people who know.

Waiting for you to take the call.

Mr. Gosavi,
what you wrote now might have happened most probably because I'm using gmail only since 16th. June and not very well conversant with it ,or its other intricacies.Since last 3 4 days my system is behaving erratically and getting hung, whenever I go to Racingpulse anda few blogs. that is why I have removed your toolbar because after installing it on my computer stared 'hanging' as my RAM (or is it ROM!) is only 512MB.
after sending mail I normally do not wait after those green dots disappear.
thanks for enlightening me on this aspect, I'll rememberit henceforth.

dear mr. Gosavi,
thanks for having patience with me. I have neither accusecd, abused, shown disrespect or made a wrong, nonfactual statement against you in that writeup nor I intend to do against anybody till provoked. I've made a statement that I have sent the response or the article to your blog(I withheld the name out of decency) and it was not published. I even said that every blogger has a right( in fact ABSOLUTE right) to publish/reject any response. I certainly do not think these twp sentences are in any way derogatory, defamatory, insulting or accusative and therefore find no reason to be apologetic. Inspite of that I regret and do not apologise for publishing those factual statements.
I've written hundreds of articles and replied to thousands of responses on IR.com during last 4-5 years some of which were really repulsiveand did not demand anything from the website or the fictitious writer but tried to prove him wrong.
I don't think it worthwhile to checkup everytime with a writer/owner why and how he has acted in a manner he did because I made it very clear that a owner/bloggers authority/right on his website/blog is absolute and unquestionable.
Hope I've clarified my position and satisfied your doubts

dear Tiger
dear tiger,
correction. Sprint Star will undoubtedly stay 2000m, even will go upto Derby(2400m) distance and if exploited and trained judiciously may win few classics as there is no outstanding 3 yo , at this time, who can claim absolute superiority ,likes of Southern Empire and Set Alight at this time of the year are missing. If there is a 'sleeping' champion somewhere in hiding , I don't know.
Captivating has been defeated twice over 1600m and stand no chance even to place in summer Derby. She may win a handicap race over 2000m in winter, but classics more than 1600m are beyond her reach .her pedigree indicates that.

Since you have clarified your position, let the matter be buried here only. But we surely have different ideas as to what constitutes propriety in communication between bloggers.

I still feel that if you are referring to a unique article that appeared only on a particular blog, it is wrong to impute action (or motive) to that blogger without first ascertaining if he did commit it.

Wishing you the best,
Prakash Gosavi
