Dear Chanakya, if you look at the results of the mysore million, Sprint Star was rated 82, carrying 57 kilos. Mystic Quest(out of Free Radical, a pure miler), rated 81, carried 50.5 kilos. The rating of the rest of the horses were nowhere close to these. Having the weight advantage, Mystic Quest won the race. (If one were to watch the race, Mystic went through a bad passage & still won, or else, the verdict would have been better. Also, Fleet Indian clipped the hind legs of Mystic in the early part resulting in Aadesh's fall. The hind legs of Mystic were bleeding profusly after the race). The Kingfisher derby was won by Aboline (highest rated at 91) followed by Jacqueline (second highest rated at 90). The Bangalore summer million was won by Gypsy Magic, highest rated at 82, again. If we look into the technicality of who beat whom previously, one would go by your choice. However, arent the official handicapper's rating & weights indicators? Your comments please. Regards.

Mystic can not lose at this advantage . same is the case of Gypsy Magic and Aboline luck helped against Jaqueline as she moved better , much better in last 400m.video is the proof. official handicapper does his job normally sincerely and is forced to penalise a winner against a loser and sometimes, nay, many times outhandicaps a winner! space is too short to explain this point. sometime I may say much more about it. ratings are not sacrosanct and Conceptual baetinh Icebreaker and she beating Set Alight is arecent example of this failure. Even Andy Beyers numbers do not succeed in USA and he has failed more than 10 times to predict the winner of Kentucky Derby in a row!
handicapping needs info,time, study, analysis,unbiased thinking and a bit of reasoning before final selection and ruthless introspection after a failure.

Set Alight is the best female thoroughbred of the first decade of 21st. century... losing or winning a race does not change the perspective . The dubious methods used by connections tell a tale- historians may analyse at a later date...
horseracing was a passion few years back. It is now a vocation. With tags of various postgraduate degrees in Physics, Aeronautical Engineering, Law, to name some, I still feel that there is lot more to learn, understand and master before I can say - yes I know or I knew!
